How to Enjoy a Good Coffee Without Leaving Home?

Hello, Palomalovers! I am Paloma Rivera. At our farm, we are allies of coffee lovers, and today I want to share with you how to enjoy a good coffee without leaving home.

At Paloma Rivera, we are pioneers in promoting exotic and specialty coffees from Belalcázar, and we know how important it is to enjoy the perfect cup.

Here are the best methods, practical and easy to use, so you can enjoy special coffee in the comfort of your home.

French Press Method (the method I recommend the most)

The French press is one of the most popular and simple methods to prepare coffee at home.

  1. You need medium-coarse ground coffee; all our exotic coffees from Paloma Rivera can be prepared with this grind in the press, preferably freshly ground. Always try to keep special coffee as whole beans and grind it just before use, as its flavor profile is enhanced with this method.
  2. Heat water to about 85°C (just before boiling).
  3. Add the ground coffee to the press (about 1 tablespoon for every 125 ml of water).
  4. Pour the hot water over the coffee, stir, and place the lid with the plunger up.
  5. Let it steep for 4 minutes, then slowly press the plunger down and serve.

The French press allows the extraction of oils and intense flavors from the coffee, creating a rich and complete experience. A great way to enjoy special coffee without leaving home!

Aeropress Method

The Aeropress is another popular method among coffee enthusiasts due to its versatility and ease of use. This portable device is ideal for making a quick and delicious cup of special or exotic coffee.

  1. Place a filter in the Aeropress cap and rinse it with hot water.
  2. Assemble the Aeropress and add medium-fine ground coffee (1 to 2 tablespoons) to the cylinder.
  3. Add hot water (about 85-90°C), stir for 10 seconds, and place the plunger.
  4. Slowly press the plunger down until all the coffee has been filtered.

The Aeropress produces a clean and smooth cup, highlighting the unique notes of our special and exotic coffees from Pereira.

V60 Method

The V60, also known as the pour-over method, is perfect for those who enjoy coffee with a clean and complex flavor profile. This method is ideal for appreciating the quality of a good special coffee at home.

  1. Place a paper filter in the V60 and rinse it with hot water.
  2. Add medium ground coffee (1 tablespoon for every 125 ml of water).
  3. Slowly pour hot water (about 90-96°C) in circles over the coffee, allowing it to bloom (expand) before continuing to pour.

The V60 allows precise control over the extraction, enhancing the distinctive characteristics of our exotic and special coffees.
